Privacy Policy

Who we are

The Homeowner Scoop is a local website about Broward and Palm Beach counties, run by Chris Cusimano in Florida. Questions about this policy? Email hello@thefriendlyscoop.com.

Newsletter signups

When you join our newsletter, we collect your email address, your first name if you give it, the page you signed up on and the date. We also keep a scrambled (hashed) version of your internet address to stop spam signups.

This information is stored in our website database, which only our admin can read. We also add your email and first name to Kit, the email service we use to send the newsletter. Kit handles your information under its own privacy policy.

Lead forms

If you fill out a form such as "Work with me" or "What's my home worth?", we collect what you enter, like your name, email, phone, property address and message. We use it only to reply to you and help with your real estate questions.

Google Analytics and cookies

We use Google Analytics to understand how people use the site, such as which pages are visited. Google Analytics uses cookies and collects information like your browser, device, general location and pages viewed. We don't use it to identify you personally. You can block cookies in your browser settings or use Google's opt-out browser add-on.

How we use your information

We use your information to send the newsletter, answer your questions and improve the site. We do not sell your personal information.

How to unsubscribe

Every newsletter email has an unsubscribe link at the bottom. You can also email hello@thefriendlyscoop.com and we'll remove you.

How to request data deletion

To see or delete the information we have about you, email hello@thefriendlyscoop.com with the subject "Delete my data." We'll remove it from our database and from Kit and confirm when it's done.

Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, we'll update the date at the top of this page.
